About Childminders...

We are a nanny placement service conducting business in Chicago and all suburbs since 1988. Our counselors are licensed by the Illinois Department of Labor. We focus on families needing permanent full-time come-and-go, live-in, or part-time nannys.

It is our job to identify wants and needs of families. Clarifying expectations, defining responsibilities, screening carefully, negotiating agreements among the parties and sharing our expertise and experience about what makes matches work.

Childminders' competence includes knowing where to look for and how to screen qualified caregivers; communication skills for interviewing families and caregivers and conducting the essential background checks.

Screening Methods Include:

• In-Person Interview.
  
• Written application.
  
• English Speaking (or English as a secondary language).
  
• References are required.
  
• Immigration is checked.
  
• Motor vehicle record--nationwide.
  
• Criminal background--nationwide.
  
• CANTS (Child Abuse Neglect Tracking System) by DCFS.

Qualifications of the Nanny:

• Minimum Age of 18.
  
• High School.
  
• Child care experience or experience in a related field.
  
• CPR and First Aid. (optional)

Salary Negotiation: is between the employing family and the caregiver (we offer guidance as to the "going" rates). Salaries are based on the skills and qualifications of the provider as well as the needs of the individual families. There is no placement fee charged unless the family hires one of our nannies.
